As the nation's resource center for child protection, the National Center for
Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) spearheads national efforts to
locate and recover
missing children and raises public awareness about ways
to prevent child abduction,
molestation, and sexual exploitation. A private, nonprofit organization established in
1984, NCMEC operates under a Congressional mandate and works in conjunction with the U.S.

Help find a missing child.
Call 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) if you've seen one of these children.
Join thousands of individuals who are
already helping NCMEC disseminate photographs of missing children over the Internet by
participating in the Web Links Project. Displaying images of missing children has

"We
support the work of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children."
Children International, a nonprofit humanitarian
organization, strives to help children around the world overcome
the burdens of poverty to
become healthy, educated, self-sustaining and contributing members of society.
This goal is achieved primarily through "individual
child sponsorship" which unites children in need with individual sponsors who wish to
address the children's immediate and basic needs, and give them the tools and
opportunities necessary for success. Sponsor contributions help pay for the benefits that
each child receives.
Sponsor contributions are used to support programs and
provide benefits, primarily in the areas of health and education. Benefits, which can vary
from child to child, include: annual health exams, school supplies and fees,
school
uniform items, clothing and shoes, items for the home as well as nutrition education and
counseling.
